National Beach Volleyballer Eliza Chong shares with SportPlus.sg why post training recovery matters, and her first experience trying the 100PLUS PRO High Protein
In an exclusive series with 100PLUS Singapore, Sportplus.sg sits down with 3 of Singapore's national athletes behind-the-scenes to discuss their recovery regimes, favourite recovery food choices and their first experiences trying the 100PLUS PRO High Protein.
What is the importance of recovery work for athletes?
Eliza: Recovery is a very important aspect of an athlete's training, as it allows us to recalibrate and come back stronger than before.
What are some of your favourite recovery foods?
Eliza: It really depends on what phase I am at during my season. If it's more in terms of me needing the energy I will have a greater intake of carbs, as well as salt intake. I am more of a vegetable person, so yes protein is important but I love my vegetables.
How do you feel after trying 100PLUS PRO for the first time?
Eliza: I feel good, I enjoy 100PLUS PRO's very unique taste, and it tastes very different from the rest of the 100PLUS drinks I've had before.
Can you describe for people who have not tried 100PLUS PRO before what it’s good for and what it tastes like?
Eliza: I would say it tastes like Vanilla. I love vanilla, it's a taste most people would love.
100PLUS PRO is known for fueling performance, how do you think this drink will enhance your recovery regime in any aspect moving forward?
Eliza: 100PLUS PRO contains BCAA, Vitamin B3 B6 and B12, most of the Vitamins and ingredients I need, so I think it would be a great drink to add to my recovery routine from now on.
When do you usually take your recovery drinks?
Eliza: Most of the time I take my recover drinks after training, during the recovery period. And if I can possibly before I go to bed, I try to have a drink before I sleep.
