Singapore, January 24, 2022 - As an extension to the official launch of its first Brand Centre, adidas Singapore partnered global and local Creators, as well as Sport Singapore, to host an intimate sharing and training session for aspiring youth footballers.
Dubbed ‘Sport, Is Here’, the session aimed to inspire participants to discover and/or rediscover their love for football, and encourage strong camaraderie. Football is a beautiful game that transcends boundaries and unites us all, no matter how different we all are.

Led by local football legend Fandi Ahmad, adidas global icon David Beckham, ActiveSG Football Academy Principal Aleksandar Duric, together with Anders Aplin, Fabian Kwok, and Iqbal Hussain, the session hosted a total of 30 youth participants, aged 12 to 19 across different genders and races.
Kickstarting the session was a closed-door sharing by Beckham and Fandi, who shared key
mindset and tips as professional athletes, using references from their personal experiences in their career.

Beckham shared that “to be a top athlete it takes sacrifices, hard work, and dedication. We will go through difficult times and we’ll go through challenging moments, but you always have to believe in yourself, and your team mates.”
“The will to succeed must be stronger than the skill. Anyone can have skills, but to make the best of the skills you must have the will to work hard; the will to soldier through any challenge and hardship, and continue pursuing your passion,” Fandi added.

Participants also had the opportunity to get up close and personal to learn from the best with Fandi and adidas football Creators, through a football clinic.
adidas Singapore also collaborated with Weston Corporation to gift exclusive adidas gears to all participants, as part of the brand’s commitment in giving back to the local football community.
