"Thrilled to return to Singapore for the third edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, kicking off what promises to be a monumental year. Starting the season in this vibrant city is truly special, and the anticipation is building as the best 3x3 players and teams in Oceania and Asia prepare to engage in fierce competition," said Alex Sanchez, FIBA 3x3 Director.

“Building on the success of the past two editions of FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup and the inaugural 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, we are excited to bring the basketball action back to our local and regional fans. Organising such international events allow Singapore to showcase our capabilities and elevate the profile of the sport locally and regionally, thereby inspiring more youths to pursue the sport competitively," said Marcus Tan, Chief of Sport Development Group, Sport Singapore.

"At the same time, it provides our Team Singapore athletes a valuable opportunity to compete alongside the best teams in the region in front of a home crowd. We are immensely proud of our athletes’ fighting spirit in the last two seasons, and look forward to another exciting basketball season this March.”

Packed stands of passionate fans made for an incredible sight at the Singapore Sports Hub OCBC Square during the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup.

There were an impressive 43 teams in the entire draw – 23 men's and 20 women's – in a showcase of the best 3x3 talent in Asia. In what might have been the greatest ever Asia Cup final, Mongolia snapped powerhouse Australia's 24-game winning streak in the event after superstar Anand Ariunbold hit an all-time buzzer-beater.

Their victory marked Mongolia’s second title, with their first in 2017, while Australia will be looking for revenge as they bid for a record-extending fourth title. The only other country that has tasted gold in the men's is Qatar, who won the first Asia Cup in 2013.
