Casio to be Official Watch and Timekeeper of Singapore Lions for AFF Suzuki Cup

Casio Singapore partners Football Association Singapore (FAS) for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup launching limited-edition Singapore Lions and G-SHOCK watch

Singapore, 9 November 2021 - Casio Singapore and Football Association Singapore (FAS) have announced a partnership for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup

that will take place from 5 December 2021 to 1 January 2022.


To show their support for the Lions’ AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 campaign, Casio has released a limited-edition Singapore Lions and G-SHOCK watch that is based on the GBD-100-1A7 model and infused with a Singapore Lions-inspired motif in the traditional red and white. The watch will be worn by every member of the Singapore Men’s National Team and officials throughout the AFF Suzuki Cup campaign.

Managing Director, Mr. Shigeru Watanabe and General Manager, Mr. Masakazu Sugawa from Casio Singapore visited the Jalan Besar Stadium to meet the FAS’ General Secretary, Mr Yazeen Buhari and National Team Head Coach, Mr Tatsuma Yoshida along with National Team Players, Shahdan Sulaiman and Gabriel Quak to unveil and present the Lions’ G-SHOCK watches before the team departed for their training camp in Dubai.

According to FAS General Secretary, Mr Yazeen Buhari, the collaboration with the Japanese watch company is a good indication for Singapore's football scene as it shows that it is starting to gain positive momentum from local organisations within the country.


He added: “We are grateful for the faith and support that Casio Singapore has demonstrated to our AFF Suzuki Cup campaign. Despite these difficult years caused by the pandemic, we have seen many organisations step forward to show such unprecedented support to the local football scene. This G-SHOCK watch collaboration with the Lions’ insignia will remind the National Team squad that they are playing for a country that stands unwaveringly behind them.”

With hopes that this collaboration will drive the team to greater heights at the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup 2021, Mr. Shigeru Watanabe, Managing Director of Casio Singapore added: “As my adopted country, I will be passionately cheering on the Lions in the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup 2021.
