Valentine's Day is just around the corner, which could only mean one thing—you're most definitely wrecking your brain thinking of what to do and places to go without needing to squeeze with the crowds or leave your name on a lengthy waiting list of that Michelin Star restaurant.
If you're coupled up, there's also a likelihood you're looking for innovative date ideas that doesn't necessary involve the cliched watching a movie, shopping, or a picnic.
Most may think there isn't much to see in Singapore, but there are some understated spots to take your loved one to that beautifully embodies Singapore's identity as an "Urban Jungle".
There's no better way to appreciate the unique blend of modernity and nature than to explore Singapore through the Park Connectors, leads you from one neighbourhood to the next.

So ditch the usual routine, and uncover the beautifully raw gems in the neighbourhood on two wheels? Here's Sportplus.sg's guide to a couple of food spots to take your date to as you cycle around the Northeast of Singapore.
Before we get those helmets on, here are two tips! With there being a number of food spots to explore, order a few dishes to share at each spot! That way, you'll be able to try more food. We're Singaporeans after all, eating is in our DNA.
Secondly, hydration is key to make sure you're not tiring yourself too much. It's a fun date after all! Fuel yourselves up with something light like 100PLUS ZERO. With zero sugar and zero calories, you can instead indulge in your favourite foods without hesitation.
Now, if you don't have your own bikes, grab two Anywheel or Hello Ride bicycles near Punggol Waterway Point. With there being an MRT Station, a mall and plenty of HDB blocks around, there should be plenty for you to kickstart your date.

Food Spot 1: Anna's Sourdough, Oasis Terraces
From Punggol Waterway Point, ride along Punggol Waterway, a serene park that stretches to the other end of Punggol. Follow the steady flow of the canal next to you to Oasis Terraces, and you'll reach your first stop of the day—Anna's Sourdough.
The quaint cafe, with outdoor seating overlooking the park, centers itself around the relationship between science, food and gut and mental health. With sourdough as its driving force, their menu is curated to enhance your taste buds and your body.
From toasties to steak and eggs, salads to Barramundi Stews, and pastas and soups, you're likely to find something for you and your date to share. Don't go too crazy though, it's only your first stop!
Food Spot 2: georges @ The Cove, Pasir Ris Park
Continue along Punggol Waterway, and across the Lorong Halus Red Bridge. (Don't worry, we'll come back here to take in the scenery later!) Make your way into the Pasir Ris Park Connector and into Pasir Ris Park Area 4, where you'll find your second food spot.
Located right by Pasir Ris Beach, georges @ The Cove is our most picturesque suggestion on the list. The alfresco dining bistro overlooks the sea leading out to Pulau Ubin and Malaysia. Dotted with distant kelongs, the scene evokes a rare sense of tranquility we as Singaporeans often seek in neighbouring Southeast Asian countries—one that’s fading in Singapore’s ever-evolving, fast-paced society.

Serving mostly the Western cuisine, georges' featured items include beef sliders, wings and its Fisherman's Basket, offering fried squid heads, fish fingers, tempura prawns and onion rings. The menu also has items such as burgers, nachos and Fish and Chips.
When you've had your fill of food and views, it's time to jump back on those bikes on the hunt for a sweet treat.
Food Spot 3: Desserts by Stella, Pasir Ris Central Hawker Center
Digest all that food as you cycle through Pasir Ris Park.Don't forget to soak in the sounds around you—the rhythmic waves and the joyful chatter of families spending time together.
Make your way towards Downtown East, before turning into Pasir Ris Town Park, where you'll find Pasir Ris Central Hawker Center. Desserts by Stella specialises in local Singaporean sweet treats such as Chendol and Cheng Tng amongst many others.
After all that cycling, you deserve the treat!

Immerse yourself in nature, and preserve the moments that matter Now, it's time to head back to where you started. With each food spot now ticked off and stomachs happily fed, make sure the take a couple of pictures as you loop your way back. It's not just for your couple Valentine's Day Instagram posts, but instead about freezing a memory for you to look back on as you grow together.
The first picture spot is one you would've crossed on your way to Pasir Ris Park, Lorong Halus Red Bridge. As you stop on the bridge to take a few pictures, look out to the Lorong Halus Wetlands and soak it all in. There aren't many spots like that left in Singapore after all!

As you make the final stretch back to Punggol Waterway Point, stop at Jewel Bridge for your final stop of the day. The beautifully designed lookout point offers another view of the greenery that stretches along the entire park, perfect for another picture moment for you and your loved one on a day to remember.
