Singapore, 18 February 2025 - In a thrilling announcement, Team SportPlus has revealed the first of its two highly anticipated team kits for the upcoming 2025 racing season.

SportPlus' first ever team kit features a brighter take to its corporate colours of orange and black, as the team gets ready to turn heads with a vibrant pink tee that features a bold, eye-catching splatter and darker dash of blue.

The new uniform from Purpose Performance Wear is a radical departure from usual training attires, as the creatives at SportPlus.sg opted for a more dynamic and artistic approach to the team’s style, embracing both high performance athletes and everyday athletes alike, with the team's corporate partners and sponsors' logos emblazoned across the front, back and sleeves of the shirt.

The new kit is expected to be the first of two team uniforms dropping in the coming month, as SportPlus gets ready for the much anticipated MetaSprint Series: Duathlon and Singapore T100 double-header, designed with comfort in mind and a sleek aesthetic that aims to push both performance and style to the next level.

The launch of the new kit has already generated some excitement and intrigue within the athletes' group in camp, as many enthused about its comfort as it blends functional innovation with modern design.

Athlete Models' Thoughts on the New Training Kit

One of the standout athletes for the team, Raymond Sng, has expressed his excitement about the new uniform. A new addition to Team SportPlus this year, Raymond will be looking to qualify for this year's National Championships at the year-end Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon at Gold Coast Marathon with the SportPlus team in July. Raymond shared: "I like the fact that it's purple. It's an unconventional colour, it's quite bold so I'm sure you will be noticed during training times."

Jezekiel Acazo Samson, otherwise known as "Kiel", is new to multi-sport racing and a new face of Team SportPlus. Kiel echoed Raymond's sentiments sharing: "I always look at comfort as the first priority when it comes to team kits. That is the most important."

"Beyond that I also love the vibrant colours of pink and purple, it's been a long time since I had a kit this colour and I look forward to wearing it for many of my trainings," he added.

Cyclists Maxine Tan and Ameline Tan were quick to agree. Ameline shared: "The colour is really cool, I really like it," while Maxine feels the kit is both sporty and gender neutral which makes it a great choice. "Honestly, I think it's very pretty. The colour really suits my skin which is awesome."

Hanida Hussien, chief designer of SportPlus' new team kits joked that the design inspiration came from SportPlus media crew's need to spot its athletes more easily at events and races based on past work experiences.

She further added: “We want our athletes to feel more confident when wearing our team uniforms and be comfortable in trainings and in a race.”

John Yeong, founder of SportPlus Media, shared that the team is fortunate to have the support of local sportswear company Purpose in its endeavour to provide the athletes with an identity while racing this year for SportPlus.

"When we podiumed and took first place in the Duathlon Team Relay at T100 last year, Lucas asked me if we had a SportPlus flag or uniform for the three of them to bring up to the podium, to which I responded that we didn't," John said with a laugh.

"On hindsight it was a missed opportunity to have two of our teams podium and yet not have an identity on stage."

John believes the uniform’s modern aesthetic reflects the team’s forward-thinking approach, blending both performance-driven and style-forward elements into one cohesive look.

“Looking at the new kit, it’s more than just a uniform; it’s a representation of where we are in our evolution both as a company and as a team. I believe the bold design and cutting-edge technology will give the team the confidence to push themselves further this year, whatever their individual goals may be."

A New Milestone

The kit’s launch represents a key milestone for the team, as Team SportPlus enters its third year participating in endurance sports team events and looks to pilot a new programme for athletes with the support of its partners Garmin, Oakley, iRun Singapore, Muscle Lab, Purpose Performance Wear and Simply Active.

As the season approaches, supporters are eager to see how Team SportPlus performs in events both locally and overseas. Bouyed by a new club kit and common identity, Team SportPlus athletes will be looking to achieve new personal breakthroughs in their respective races on the track, roads and in the public eye.
