Bishan–Ang Mo Kio Park: The Heartland's Go-To Running Route

Not every good run needs a coastline or a canopy. Bishan–Ang Mo Kio Park is the everyday runner's park — a naturalised stretch of the Kallang River winding through the heart of the island, flat and green and endlessly connectable.

The run

A comfortable ~6K within the park, flat and paved, with the meandering river as your guide. The real trick is the Park Connector Network: link out toward Kallang or the Central Catchment and you can build this into a much longer run without touching a main road.

Why runners love it

It's central, accessible and unpretentious — the kind of place you run on a Tuesday because it's five minutes away. The river restoration turned a concrete canal into actual greenery, so it's more pleasant than "neighbourhood park" suggests, and it's a favourite with dog owners and families too.

Best time to run it

Morning or evening to dodge the heat. It's well-used but rarely uncomfortably crowded once you're moving.

Getting there

Central and MRT-accessible, with several park entrances around Bishan and Ang Mo Kio. (verify nearest entrance/parking.)

Run it with a crew

Heartland crews use this park as their weekly base. Find one on ATHLO+ and turn your convenient solo loop into a standing date.
