Structured Runs with Credible Coaching

While some gyms have jumped on the running hype and formed their own run communities in order to keep members within their ecosystem in the lead up to HYROX, many are new to running and may lead without relevant run-specific experience or appropriate coaching backgrounds in endurance sports to do so.

Here we highlight the best avenues in Singapore where runners can join structured training programs led by run clubs either with certified coaches, national athletes or runners with credible adaptations from past sporting experiences and training models to get race-ready.

From free programmes for the general public, to more personalised and advanced programmes for serious athletes looking to improve their performance and take it to the next level, here are our top five.

Track squad training is based on VDOT, a term popularised by Dr. Jack Daniels, a renowned exercise physiologist and running coach, in his book Daniels’ Running Formula.

It is a metric used to estimate a runner's fitness level and predict race performances based on a standardised scale. Track sessions on Tuesdays (Bedok) and Thursdays (CCAB, MOE Evans) are co-run by Elevate Performance Coaching and Tribal Triathlon Singapore and are ideal for more serious athletes looking for coaching, training programmes catered to athletes of all abilities.
