Play Padel Under the Supertrees: Complimentary Courts Open at Gardens by the Bay

Singapore’s active community has a brand-new sporting playground, and it comes with an unbeatable view. The inaugural Padel at the Gardens has officially arrived on the West Lawn at Gardens by the Bay, giving local sports enthusiasts and first-time players the chance to pick up one of the world’s fastest-growing racket sports against the backdrop of Singapore’s iconic Supertrees.

Presented by UBS in partnership with Gardens by the Bay, this pop-up activation features custom-built glass-walled courts running from 19 September through 11 October 2026. The best part? Members of the public can book complimentary open play sessions throughout the three-week showcase.

Bringing the Global Padel Boom to Singapore’s Waterfront

Padel has taken the international sporting landscape by storm over the last several years, celebrated for its fast learning curve, dynamic rallies, and inherently social doubles format.

Singapore marks the latest stop in the regional UBS Padel Series, which has previously transformed world-famous landmarks into sporting arenas—including Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour for Padel Central and the Sydney Opera House for the Australia Padel Invitational.

At the official court opening, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Ministry of National Development, Syed Harun Alhabsyi, stepped onto the 20x10-metre court alongside national padel players and community members to inaugurate the venue.

Sport, Nature, and Community Bonding

The collaboration is designed as an inclusive entry point for Singaporeans of all ages and fitness levels to pick up a racket and experience the sport firsthand.

"We are thrilled to bring padel to Singapore's iconic Gardens by the Bay, creating a welcoming space where sport, nature, and community can come together and flourish. Through sport, we celebrate the values of dedication, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that support healthy, active, and fulfilling lives."

For Gardens by the Bay, integrating dynamic sporting experiences into green spaces aligns with its mission as the "People's Garden."

"Sporting events bring the community together, and this is a vital part of what we do at Gardens by the Bay," said Ong Kian Ann, Chief Operations Officer at Gardens by the Bay. "Set against the backdrop of the Supertrees, this collaboration opens up the fast-growing sport to a wider audience, giving more people the chance to experience it for themselves."

The initiative falls under the broader UBS Craft of Sport umbrella, which has previously engaged Singapore’s sporting community through elite athlete touchpoints—including youth clinics with football icon Thierry Henry, Masters champion Sergio Garcia, and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 driver George Russell.
