If there's a spiritual home for running in Singapore, it's here. East Coast Park unspools along roughly 15 kilometres of reclaimed coastline, and for a huge chunk of the island's runners it's the default: flat, breezy, and endless enough that you set the distance, not the park.
## The run
Pancake-flat, fully paved, and effectively an out-and-back — which makes it the easiest place in Singapore to run an honest pace. String together a comfortable 10K without a single junction to break your rhythm, or push all the way from one end to the other for a long run in the 15K range. The Park Connector keeps you off roads the whole way.
Why runners love it
The sea is on one side the entire time, so there's almost always a breeze — a rare mercy in Singapore's humidity. It's also sociable without being crowded once you're moving: cyclists, families and other runners share a wide, well-kept path. For tempo work or a first long run, the lack of stops is the whole point.
Best time to run it
Early morning is unbeatable — cooler air, quieter path, and the sunrise over the water. Late evening works too once the heat drops. Midday is brutal here; the exposure that gives you the breeze also gives you the full sun.
Getting there
The park runs along the southeast coast; the Marine Parade and Bedok areas are the usual access points, with connectors leading in. (Worth confirming the nearest current entrance and parking for your start point before you publish.)
Refuel after
The East Coast Lagoon Food Village is the classic post-run reward — right on the route, right by the sea. (Check current opening hours.)
Run it with a crew
East Coast is the island's busiest run-crew corridor — weekend shakeouts launch from here constantly. Find a crew that runs ECP on ATHLO+ and turn the solo miles into your Saturday ritual.
