SINGAPORE — The global phenomenon of fitness racing is officially expanding its reach to the next generation in Asia. HYROX, the world’s largest fitness racing series, has announced the regional launch of HYROX Youngstars, an age-adapted competitive format designed specifically for young athletes aged 8 to 15.
The dedicated youth concept will make its official Asian debut at AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore on 28–29 November 2026, where approximately 2,000 junior competitors are expected to take to the race floor.
Bringing Youth Fitness Racing to Asia
Following pilot activations worldwide, HYROX introduced Youngstars as a permanent fixture at HYROX Amsterdam in January 2026, drawing over 1,500 youth competitors. The format quickly gained momentum across major sporting hubs, including London, Berlin, Maastricht, Salt Lake City, and Oslo.
Now, the series arrives in Singapore—a city that played an instrumental role in shaping the youth race format during initial trial activations in 2024.
"Launching the first HYROX Youngstars race in Asia, here in Singapore, is an incredibly special moment," said Jessica Petty, Head of HYROX Youngstars. "Singapore hosted one of our first Youngstars activations in 2024, with the region playing a key role in shaping the race concept and format we now know today. To see it all come full circle with our first race in Asia is something we are incredibly proud of. Youngstars is about giving young people the opportunity to get active, challenge themselves, and build confidence through fitness racing."
Rapid APAC Growth Sets the Stage for Family Participation
The arrival of HYROX Youngstars marks a strategic evolution for HYROX across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Since debuting in Hong Kong in 2022 with fewer than 1,000 racers, the mass-participation fitness sport has experienced exponential growth, projecting nearly 300,000 race entries across APAC in 2026.
Gary Wan, Managing Director of HYROX APAC, highlighted the broader vision of community and multi-generational participation:
"HYROX Youngstars reaffirms our commitment to continually evolving the HYROX experience across APAC and giving the next generation a meaningful place within our community. This expansion marks a key milestone in scaling the sport across the region, making our events more holistic, engaging, and welcoming for every age group."
Supporting this regional expansion is title partner AIA, aligning the event with initiatives that promote youth wellness and multi-generational active living.
"At AIA, our purpose is to enable people to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, and that journey starts from a young age," said Wong Sze Keed, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore. "We are thrilled to partner with HYROX to bring HYROX Youngstars to Singapore, introducing a new generation to fitness racing and showing that sport can be accessible and inclusive, regardless of age or fitness level."
