West Coast Park: Where Singapore Runs Its Free Saturday 5K

Every Saturday morning, a friendly crowd gathers in the west for a free, timed 5K — and you're invited. West Coast Park is the home of parkrun in Singapore, which makes this flat, easygoing route as much a community as a course.

The run

A flat, roughly 5K route on a mix of paved path and grassy park ground. On parkrun days it's a marked, timed 5K with volunteers and a results email; any other day it's simply a pleasant, unfussy park run you can set to your own distance.

Why runners love it

The parkrun format is the draw: free, timed, weekly, and genuinely welcoming to every pace — first-timers and sub-20 runners toe the same line. It's one of the easiest, lowest-pressure ways to start (or restart) running in Singapore.

Best time to run it

Saturday morning for parkrun itself — arrive early for the pre-run briefing. (verify current parkrun start time and meeting point.) Any other morning or evening works for a casual loop.

Getting there

In the west, with several entrances and parking around the park. (verify nearest entrance to the parkrun start.)

Run it with a crew

parkrun is the crew, but the fun continues after. Find a west-side crew on ATHLO+ and turn Saturday's 5K into a proper weekend ritual with coffee to follow.
