The defining headline of the Adios Pro 5 is a radical architectural shift beneath the foot. Since the original Adios Pro debuted in 2020, adidas has relied on its anatomical carbon-infused Energyrods to deliver propulsion. With the Pro 5, that system is officially gone.
Replacing it is ENERGYRIM, an all-new perimeter carbon-infused structure visible along the midsole flanks and highlighted via a reflective zone in the heel.
By pushing the structural carbon element outward rather than running five individual rods directly through the midsole core, adidas freed up space for a significantly higher volume of uninterrupted Lightstrike Pro foam directly underfoot. The result is twofold: a +9% bump in energy return over the Adios Pro 4, alongside tuned lateral stiffness designed to keep runners upright and stable when form deteriorates past the 30-kilometre mark.

Weighing in at an average of 177 grams (UK 8.5), the Adios Pro 5 cuts 12% of the bulk off its predecessor. In marathon racing, shedding nearly an ounce per foot without reducing stack height translates to measurable metabolic savings over 42.195 kilometres.
