The Kiprun Singapore 2026 Course Maps Revealed: Fast Waterfront Tracks, Wide Corridors, and Mid-Race Hype Zones

Decathlon Singapore and MetaSport have officially revealed the route maps for the inaugural edition of The Kiprun Singapore 2026, scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2026. Flagging off along Nicoll Highway and culminating at the Decathlon Singapore Lab in Kallang, the courses across the 21.1km Half Marathon, 10km, 5km, and Kids Dash categories have been engineered specifically to address classic race-day bottlenecks while showcasing the best of Singapore’s urban waterfront.

Whether you are targeting a personal best over the half marathon distance or looking for a scenic road run through the city, here is a complete breakdown of what to expect on race morning.

Engineered for PBs: The "Room to Run" Blueprint

A key challenge often faced by endurance runners in Singapore is navigating tight pinch-points, congested starting stretches, and sharp 90-degree turns that interrupt pacing rhythm. The Kiprun Singapore course layout counters this with a clear focus on open road corridors and continuous forward momentum:

  • Wide-Road Corridors: Early race kilometers take full advantage of wide thoroughfares along Nicoll Highway and Stadium Boulevard. This design allows participants across waves to settle cleanly into target splits without jostling or early-stage braking.

  • Momentum-Sustaining Curves: The route limits sharp, technical 90-degree turns, replacing them with sweeping curves that help performance-minded runners protect cadence and energy.

  • Precision Race Execution: Accurate split-timing mats are set every 5km, supported by structured wave starts and dedicated official pacers to assist runners in locking down target finish times.

As Nathaniel Gregory, CEO of Decathlon Singapore, noted regarding the technical layout:

"Our goal with this route design was to eliminate the compromise runners usually face. By combining technical precision, wide-open roads and continuous community energy, we are creating an environment where all runners can hit their personal bests while truly enjoying every kilometer."

Course Highlights: From Kallang Basin to Marina Bay

Beyond technical pacing profiles, the route provides a dynamic visual journey starting in the dark and transitioning into early daylight over the Marina Bay skyline.

21.1km Half Marathon

The flagship half-marathon journey begins on Nicoll Highway, sweeping along the Kallang Basin before guiding runners past the Singapore National Stadium. Participants will cross Sheares Avenue for expansive skyline vistas, looping past Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum, the Singapore Flyer, Gardens by the Bay, and Marina Barrage. Hydration stations along the route will feature Water, 100PLUS, and Science in Sport (SiS) Energy Gels, positioned alongside designated medical and toilet checkpoints.

10km & 5km Categories

Both the 10km and 5km categories deliver fast, accessible tracks centered around the Stadium and Nicoll Highway corridors. The 10km route loops runners past Tanjong Rhu and the National Stadium perimeter before crossing over the water toward the finish line, while the 5km offers a straightforward out-and-back dash along Nicoll Highway and Stadium Crescent.

Immersive On-Course Hype Zones

To combat early-morning race fatigue, organizers have embedded dedicated Hype Zones at critical waypoints along the track. Instead of long, quiet stretches of road, runners will pass curated lighting installations, kinetic displays, and live artistic performances positioned to carry stride rhythm through the toughest sections of the course.
