Most tracks give you a view of the stands. Bukit Gombak Stadium gives you Little Guilin. Sitting beside Bukit Gombak MRT and next to the scenic Little Guilin park, it is one of the west's most pleasant places to run laps, and one of the bases for ActiveSG's athletics development squad.
Whether you are a Bukit Batok runner after measured kilometres, a young athlete with your sights on the track, or someone who likes a scenic stroll after a session, here is your guide to Bukit Gombak Stadium.

Training at Bukit Gombak Stadium: Sessions That Work
1. The Laps-and-Lake Combo
- The Session: 20 minutes of easy laps on the track, then a cool-down walk to Little Guilin next door.
- Best For: Recovery days, when you want to move but do not want to think about pace.
2. The IPPT 2.4 km
- The Session: Six laps of a standard 400 m track. Warm up with two easy laps and some strides.
- The Tip: Treat the first lap as your warm-up pace plus a little. Save the hard work for laps four to six.
3. The 400 m Ladder
- The Session: 400 m, 800 m, 1,200 m, 800 m, 400 m at 5K effort, with a 200 m jog between each.
- The Experience: A ladder makes a long session feel short, and a measured track keeps every rung honest.
Practical Runner's Tips
- Plan Around the Squad: ActiveSG's invitation-only Athletics Development Centre for 10 to 18-year-olds trains here on Tuesday and Thursday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and on Saturday from 4pm to 6pm.
- Track Etiquette: ActiveSG's rules ask runners to go anticlockwise and overtake on the right. When field training is on, keep out of lanes 1 to 4.
- Weather Calls: In lightning or thunder, everyone has to leave open areas.
- Hiring for Groups: Any organised track and field activity needs a prior booking with ActiveSG.
